Do you enjoy great stories and meaningful conversations? Want to make a real difference in someone’s life? We’re looking for compassionate, open-minded volunteers to lead book club discussions in Manawatu Prison

As a Book Club Facilitator, you’ll:

  • Lead engaging conversations about thought-provoking books

  • Create a safe, respectful space for sharing ideas

  • Encourage critical thinking, reflection, and connection

  • Help foster a love of reading and learning

No formal teaching experience? No problem.
If you’re a good listener, love books, and believe in the power of stories to transform lives, you’re already halfway there. We’ll provide training, support, and everything you need to get started.

What you bring:

  • A passion for reading and respectful dialogue

  • Reliability and a non-judgmental attitude

  • An open heart and a willingness to learn

Time commitment: Just a couple of hours a week or fortnight

Training and security clearance will be provided
